Twilio's 2FA Service Helps Vmware Pave the Way for True Digital Enterprise Mobility

VMware launched Workspace One to bring identity management, device management, and app delivery into a single enterprise mobility platform, but needed a secure, seamless way to authenticate users without adding friction. The company evaluated other options, including building its own solution, and chose Twilio’s 2FA service to support easy access to corporate apps and data while reducing complexity for employees and IT.

Twilio helped VMware integrate 2FA quickly through a simple API and flexible support for push notifications, software and hardware tokens, and email-based enrollment. According to VMware, Twilio met its needs for compliance, auditing, and troubleshooting, and could be stood up in its environment during a two-day hackathon, enabling rapid implementation and a better end-user experience that helped avoid shadow IT.
