How Shopify helps merchants build customer relationships with Twilio SendGrid

Shopify, the global commerce platform serving more than 1.7 million merchants, needed a scalable, reliable way for merchants to send transactional and marketing emails while protecting sender reputation and improving deliverability. Using Twilio SendGrid’s Email API, Shopify built an email marketing tool that let merchants communicate with customers through branded domains and timely alerts about payments, shipping, and promotions.

Twilio helped Shopify simplify email operations with DKIM signing, IP pool management, custom mailbox relay, and deliverability support from Twilio SendGrid’s Expert Services team. The result was a smoother merchant experience and strong performance metrics, including a 99.5% overall delivered rate, 91.3% inbox placement rate, and under 4-second p90 delivery time for transactional emails.
