University of Western Cape Transforms Student Records Management

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) struggled with a largely manual, outsourced records system for nearly 60,000 current and former students, leaving them with inaccurate data, no single consolidated view of student files, and frequent five- to six-day delays that hampered faculties and student services.

After a competitive tender UWC engaged Intervate to deploy Microsoft SharePoint 2010 with Kofax imaging and capture (VRS Elite, Transformation, Capture). The in-house digitization, automated workflows and web-based interface deliver a consolidated view of up to 31 document types, improved data integrity and retrieval speed, eliminated outsourcing, and produced measurable time and cost savings with markedly better service levels.
