University Hospitals faced a burden of manual order processing that pulled nurses away from patient care and into data entry work. To address this, they worked with Tungsten Automation, using intelligent automation and the Tungsten MarkView platform to streamline back-office transactions.
Tungsten Automation implemented robotic process automation to handle order processing overnight, allowing clinicians to start the day with far fewer tasks in their queue. The result was more than 57,000 orders processed through automation, reducing morning queues from 500–600 transactions to about 20 and helping nurses spend more time on nursing.
