A Tungsten Automation Case Study
Toymaster, a central invoicing house founded in 1989 that serves over 250 independent toy retailers in the UK, Ireland and Malta, faced growing operational strain from manually processing tens of thousands of supplier invoices (over £40M annually). Irregular paperwork flows, high infrastructure and postage costs, and new EU regulations requiring capture of every invoice line made manual processing unsustainable.
Toymaster implemented Kofax ReadSoft Online’s cloud-based invoice capture and workflow so suppliers submit invoices via a web app and data is centrally stored for compliance and analysis. The solution now processes 30,000 invoices a year, cut postage costs (about £12,000/year), reduced headcount from 38 to 17—reallocating 21 workers—and unlocked long-term purchasing insights while freeing staff for higher-value tasks.
