A Tungsten Automation Case Study
The South Carolina State Housing Finance and Development Authority (SC State Housing), a self‑supporting state agency that provides affordable housing financing, was overwhelmed by thousands of incoming pages daily from lending partners—over 150 paper types and more than 30 loan document types—requiring manual separation and sorting that took staff hours each day and slowed loan processing.
To solve this, KeyMark implemented Kofax Transformation™ to automatically classify documents, extract loan numbers via OCR, validate them against the loan database, and release files into the agency’s document management system. The result: daily document prep dropped from hours to about 30–40 minutes, loan processing time was cut in half, three full‑time positions were reassigned or retired, off‑site storage needs were drastically reduced, and employee productivity, customer service and disaster resilience all improved.
