Société Générale Algérie Accelerates Customer Onboarding from Weeks to 15 Minutes

Société Générale Algérie, a universal bank with 100 branches serving over 180,000 customers, faced slow, paper-heavy processes that stretched new-account onboarding to about 30 days and required multiple branch visits—hindering customer service, market growth and efficiency while needing to meet strict regulatory controls.

Working with CaptureDoc and Kofax, the bank deployed an integrated automation platform (TotalAgility, RPA, SignDoc and Insight) to scan and OCR documents (Latin and Arabic), route validations, enable e-signatures and automate non‑regression testing. The result: new accounts are opened in 15 minutes, the quarterly core-banking test/patch cycle is completed in days (saving >1,600 person‑days per year and reducing the patching window more than fourfold), compliance is maintained and both customer and staff experiences have markedly improved.
