A Tungsten Automation Case Study
Ron Finemore Transport, a family-owned Australian logistics provider running 260+ trucks and 650+ employees, needed real-time visibility of truck locations and delivery statuses but faced complex integration between its telematics and new TMS. The interim workaround—staff manually re-keying telematics updates into the TMS—was slow and labor-intensive, consuming the equivalent of six full-time employees and hindering the company’s goal to build value-added, data-driven services.
The company deployed Kofax RPA to automate data transfer: software robots import real-time locations, match them to routes and apply status updates in the TMS. The result was a 91% reduction in manual data entry (from six FTEs to 0.5), 12 robots now in production, a six-month ROI, faster order acceptance (cut from six hours to one), improved data quality (70% to over 90%), and significant time savings that free staff for higher-value work.
