Fältman partnered with Region Stockholm to accelerate the region’s digitalization strategy by replacing a legacy IT solution and reducing manual handling of patient information. Region Stockholm had digitized about 70% of patient records, but the remaining 30% were still paper-based, scanned into an intermediate service and causing delays that risked slower access to critical information.

Fältman’s consultants implemented Tungsten Automation’s TotalAgility to interpret, validate and integrate scanned documents—checking patient data against the Swedish tax register, linking records to the Take Care system, and automatically classifying document types. The automated flow shortens lead times, makes manually documented information available in the medical record faster, improves patient safety and service, and will handle close to four million forms annually while enabling further phased automation.
