Orange Business Services Transforms Purchasing with Automated Document Management

Orange Business Services, a subsidiary of France Telecom serving multinational clients in more than 220 countries, moved from country-based finance to four shared service centres and needed a web-based, globally capable document management, imaging, and workflow solution tightly integrated with its Oracle Financials. The company faced the dual challenge of complying with local laws that prohibit moving source documents across borders and strengthening Sarbanes-Oxley–driven internal controls while improving productivity and visibility into accounts payable.

Orange implemented Kofax MarkView for AP to scan documents into a worldwide automated workflow linked to Oracle, reusing its existing Delegation of Authority table and creating full audit trails and remote visibility. After validating ROI with a time-and-motion study, the rollout eliminated cross-border paper movement, reduced storage and headcount, tightened controls and compliance, and cut late-payment penalties—improving cash management and AP efficiency.
