Kofax Optimizes Communication from Email to Voice Mail and Fax-to-Business Applications

Swiss Post, Switzerland’s national postal service, needed to modernize communications to deliver first‑class, cost‑effective service nationwide. The challenge was to migrate paper‑based processes onto a country‑wide IP network, securely digitize documents from over 3,500 branch multi‑function devices, and integrate email, SMS and voicemail into business workflows while keeping platforms flexible for in‑house development.

Swiss Post deployed a centrally hosted Kofax Communication Server (with redundant backup) plus Kofax Capture and Transformation Modules to automate fax, email, voicemail and scan‑to‑process workflows. The system connects 3,500+ MFPs, dozens of fax channels and ~3,300 voicemailboxes, supports 18+ applications (including PickPost) and handles more than 10 million transactions a year with >99.99% availability. Results include faster, more accurate processes, higher customer satisfaction, reduced hardware costs and estimated annual savings up to CHF 600,000.
