A Tungsten Automation Case Study
JFK Health, a New Jersey hospital network focused on protecting patient information and improving satisfaction, faced rising print costs and security risks from documents left unattended at printers and large jobs sent to costly desktop devices. As its MFP contract was expiring, the IT team needed better visibility into who was printing, tighter control over outputs, and ways to cut expenses without compromising compliance.
They deployed Kofax ControlSuite—Equitrac (with I-Queue and Print-to-Me), Output Manager, and PrinterOn mobile printing—to centralize queues, enforce printing rules, and secure release of print jobs. The result: roughly 60 fewer devices (about a 10% reduction), lower print volumes, stronger protections (time-based holds and auto-deletion of unclaimed jobs), improved reporting for user education, and clear ROI through reduced device and material costs.
