A Tungsten Automation Case Study
HTH Worldwide, a global provider of healthcare access and insurance for travelers, expatriates and students, faced growing problems as members moved from mail and email to smartphone photos for submitting out-of-network medical claims. Photo submissions were often poor quality, insecurely stored or shared, and caused delays and extra work for claims staff — creating privacy risks for protected health information (PHI) and frustrating customers.
HTH adopted Kofax Mobile Capture in its app to turn phones into reliable document-capture devices, using advanced image processing, compression and secure transmission so images aren’t stored on the device. The integration with Kofax backend claims tools reduced unreadable submissions and processing delays, improved member experience and security, and positions HTH to scale to tens of thousands of mobile claims per year with a path toward automated adjudication.
