A Tungsten Automation Case Study
HK is one of Denmark’s largest trade union federations and its A‑Kasse division manages unemployment insurance for about 250,000 members. HK’s legacy document process required regional staff to “burst” case files into batches and manually key-index Social Security numbers at the end of case handling, causing frequent keystroke errors, inconsistent practices across seven regional offices, limited management reporting and high staff overheads.
BPA Solutions implemented Kofax Transformation in a POC and full rollout, moving capture to receipt, automatically classifying documents and OCR’ing SSNs with online validation (with exceptions routed for manual review), capturing barcode metadata and integrating outbound correspondence. Centralized capture in Copenhagen and automated workflows cut document-capture staffing and costs by over 50%, sped processing, improved accuracy and standardization, and produced richer management data for budgeting and cross‑charging.
