A Tungsten Automation Case Study
A global research and consultancy firm serving the energy, metals and mining sectors set out to build the North America Well Analysis Tool, requiring data on tens of thousands of wells (about 1,000 new wells weekly) with 30–40 data points per well. Manual collection was slow, inconsistent and impractical at scale, so the company needed a standardized, compliant way to acquire large volumes of timely, accurate data so analysts could focus on insight rather than gathering information.
The company implemented Kofax Kapow to automate web data extraction into a central database, enabling a dataset of roughly 16 billion data points and reducing person-hours for data collection by more than 95 (from 2–3 days to 2–3 hours per site). A centralized data-collection group now manages requests and copyright compliance, freeing analysts to deliver deeper, faster research and higher-quality client insights.
