DAK Americas Strengthens Vendor Relationships by Implementing an Automated AP Solution

DAK Americas, a leading low-cost producer of PET resin and subsidiary of a major Mexican industrial company, doubled production after two 2011 acquisitions. That rapid growth overwhelmed its centralized, mostly paperless AP: staff still manually keyed electronically received invoices into SAP, processes were siloed, many invoices arrived with invalid or missing PO numbers, and the department faced 100,000 invoices per year with no added headcount—leading to late fees, strained vendor relationships and poor cash forecasting.

DAK implemented Kofax ReadSoft Invoices and ReadSoft Process Director to automate invoice capture, three‑way matching, exception handling and SAP posting. The solution pulls emailed invoices into automated workflows, auto-verifies data against POs and goods receipts, routes discrepancies with full visibility, and enabled cross‑training and faster approvals—reducing late fees, improving vendor relations and restoring accurate cash management.
