A Tungsten Automation Case Study
Chesapeake Energy, a rapidly growing oil and gas producer, saw its internal Imaging Center expand from 2 to more than 40 staff as company operations scaled—creating a surge in scanning, quality control and mail processing. Existing “all‑in‑one” scanning platforms proved inflexible and error‑prone (requiring frequent rescans and limited contrast and page‑level controls), so the company issued an RFP and selected Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation to standardize and modernize capture.
Implementation took under two months with a Ricoh consultant and a knowledge‑transfer approach to IT; the Imaging Center grew from 34 to 165 batch classes and now captures over 1 million pages per month. Kofax automated many manual steps, enabled validation against internal systems, and dramatically improved throughput—saving hundreds of labor hours monthly for the Division Order group and mailroom and cutting postage by $9,000 per month—while building trust and standardization across departments.
