Audi Gives Global Employees Simple, Secure Access to Shared Services Through a New Web Portal

Audi, a global premium automaker, needed to simplify and speed up internal workflows that in 2006 relied on a mix of disparate web services and external sites (with inconsistent navigation and distracting ads). The company wanted a secure, company-wide intranet portal to centralize internal and external applications, streamline everyday tasks like travel planning, and make services accessible through a single, easy-to-use interface.

Using Kofax Kapow, Audi integrated more than 15 services and internal tools into a multi-language intranet of eight portals used by about 60,000 employees in 8+ countries. The solution met security requirements, allowed user-specific interfaces, simplified processes (notably travel planning), and cut IT integration time for new services from 1–2 months to 1–2 weeks—driving high user acceptance and prompting further portal expansion.
