A Tungsten Automation Case Study
Arrow Electronics, a global supply-channel partner, struggled with manual, non‑standard special-quote and invoice processes in its EMEA Components unit. Product specialists prepared hundreds of custom proposals weekly but had to request and consolidate supplier quotes delivered in different formats (email, PDF, web portals), bypassing standard B2B interfaces like EDI and RosettaNet. The repetitive data‑entry and varied submission methods created slow cycle times, errors and limited the team’s ability to focus on customers.
Arrow implemented Kofax Kapow to automate those workflows without heavy IT integration—using synthetic APIs, templates and user‑mimicking automation to handle supplier requests and incoming offers. Rolled out supplier by supplier, the solution cut about three minutes of manual work per order (hundreds of hours saved per month in Central Europe), eliminated cut‑and‑paste errors, sped invoice processing, improved data accuracy and freed specialists to spend more time advising customers and negotiating with suppliers, with plans for broader global rollout.
