A Tungsten Automation Case Study
An entity within the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and the Recovery faced a heavy burden of incoming paper mail—one service alone received the equivalent of 22,400 pages per month—creating delays, extra cost and administrative effort as documents were routed across regional and central services. The need to process citizen, company and inter‑agency correspondence efficiently made digitization a priority to cut handling time and reduce environmental impact.
After evaluating vendors, the ministry deployed Kofax Capture and Kofax Express to assign reference numbers, scan and automatically capture data (including handwritten text), and route documents into existing business systems. Since 2017 the solution has processed several thousand documents monthly, enabling bulk forwarding, faster delivery, lower paper handling, improved collaboration and measurable gains in reliability, scalability and operational efficiency.
