A Tungsten Automation Case Study
Allianz Business Services (ABS) is the shared services center Allianz established in Bratislava and Košice to centralize IT and finance functions for Eastern Europe. Faced with a mix of SAP, Oracle and local ERPs after a regional SAP rollout, ABS needed to automate accounts payable and digitize incoming invoices to improve transparency, shorten month-end closings and speed payments under a two‑year “VIP” program.
ABS deployed Kofax Capture, Transformation and VRS Elite with Kofax partner WMD’s xFlow Invoice integrated into SAP: invoices are scanned locally, sent securely to the SSC, OCR‑processed and routed for validation and SAP posting via automated workflow. The change cut invoice-to-payment times from days to as little as eight hours in some countries, halved overdue invoices, reduced manual effort, created a central SAP archive for compliance, and established a scalable platform for further automation (VIP2) and tighter SAP procurement integration.
