Case Study: Banana Republic builds mental toughness with TTEC

A TTEC Case Study

Preview of the Banana Republic Case Study

Providing leaders the drive and persistence to achieve results in an increasingly challenging retail environment

Banana Republic, the global retailer and brand within Gap Inc., was navigating major change across its leadership, parent company, and the retail industry. As change and disruption increased, the company wanted to help its leaders build mental toughness, resilience, and persistence so they could stay effective in a highly metric-driven environment. TTEC partnered with Banana Republic on this leadership development initiative, including resilience and mindset-focused learning supported by the Fortius Mindset assessment.

TTEC delivered a pilot mental toughness workshop for top store leaders in Europe, followed by a session for regional directors in North America and then a global management conference for 100 district managers from North America, Japan, and Europe. The program focused on mastering motivation, managing stress, and building a growth mindset through practical tactics and assessment feedback. The pilot received strong reviews and convinced Banana Republic to expand the program globally, with the learning now being embedded through follow-up activities across regions and aimed at influencing more than 20,000 store employees worldwide.
