Pure Mechanical Group Levels Up Its Estimating Process and Accelerates Growth with Trimble AutoBid® Software

Pure Mechanical Group, a growing commercial and industrial HVAC contractor in the Durham Region/Greater Toronto Area, struggled with inaccurate estimates, chronic under‑estimation of labor and a slow, time‑consuming bidding process that limited growth and squeezed margins. To compete with larger firms and improve estimating accuracy, Pure Mechanical turned to Trimble MEP and adopted Trimble AutoBid Mechanical and AutoBid SheetMetal software.

Trimble MEP’s AutoBid solution provided onscreen takeoffs, automatic fitting generation, a large product database and industry labor books, enabling much faster, more accurate bids. As a result Pure Mechanical increased bid volume and competitiveness, quoted over $1 million of work in three weeks (a task that previously took 3–6 months), won roughly $285,000 of new work it otherwise wouldn’t have quoted, produced estimates within a few hundred dollars of competitors, reduced material waste and avoided pandemic layoffs — with ongoing support from Trimble MEP.
