Myco Mechanical Gains Competitive Advantage with Trimble Solutions

Myco Mechanical, a progressive mechanical contractor based in Telford, PA, faced increased competition and a shrinking pool of skilled MEP labor and needed a way to streamline production and support HVAC/plumbing modeling inside Revit for fabrication. To meet that challenge they adopted Trimble MEP solutions including Trimble SysQue, Trimble Connect, Trimble Robotic Total Stations, the Trimble X7 3D Scanner, and Trimble FieldLink to create constructible models and a single source of project information.

Trimble MEP’s integrated hardware and software workflow let Myco Mechanical model natively in Revit, prefabricate from the model, and export layout points to field devices, cutting hanger and sleeve layout time to roughly 1/10th of previous methods and enabling 300–600 layout points per day. The company estimates 15–30% labor savings on jobs using Trimble SysQue with Trimble Connect and Robotic Total Stations, eliminated the need to double VDC staffing, improved coordination and speed to market, and won new negotiated work by demonstrating its advanced capabilities.
