Case Study: Megens Installations achieves rapid, accurate BIM-to-site layout with Trimble MEP

Megens Installations - Customer Case Study

Megens Installations, a Dutch MEP contractor, struggled to transfer detailed BIM information from the office to mechanics on site—printed 3D drawings were hard to read, measuring and dimensioning on site was slow, and skilled labor was scarce. To solve this, Megens turned to Trimble MEP and its Rapid Positioning System (RPT600) to bring model data directly to the construction floor.

Trimble MEP’s RPT600 robotic positioning tool uses a laser to translate BIM points to precise on-site locations and integrates with Trimble Field Points for fast export from the model to the robot’s tablet. The solution let Megens layout the entire ground level in a single visit, eliminated tape measures, cut detailers’ dimensioning hours, produced strong on-site feedback, and helped boost productive time (Armand cites a target improvement of about 10%).
