Electrical Contractor Builds Confidence in Estimating Excellence

Continental Electrical Construction Company, a fourth-generation electrical contractor based in Chicago, faced the challenge of centralizing estimating practices, speeding preconstruction workflows, and reducing manual errors across multi-team projects. The company had relied on Trimble Accubid Classic for over a decade and moved to Trimble MEP solutions—specifically Accubid Enterprise and LiveCount Pro—to support complex, large-scale electrical estimates and improve collaboration and accuracy.

Trimble MEP implemented a server-based, multi-user Accubid Enterprise platform with LiveCount Pro integration, enabling real-time takeoff updates, reusable assemblies, and automated symbol counts to eliminate redundant manual steps. The result: faster, more accurate bids (a recent 13-floor, 325,000 sq ft tenant estimate was completed in about 10 working days), improved communication between estimators and project managers, reduced risk of errors, and greater estimating confidence and productivity—allowing Continental to bid more work.
