Case Study: ELCO achieves expanded BIM offerings and streamlined design workflows with Trimble MEP

ELCO, a European pioneer in commercial and municipal heating solutions, faced rising demand from planners, designers and contractors for digital, connected products and BIM deliverables to meet regulatory and market drivers. To support compatibility with building management protocols (LonWorks, MODBUS TCP/RTU, BACnet, KNX) and the growing BIM mandate in markets like the UK, France, Germany and Italy, ELCO partnered with Trimble MEP and adopted Trimble’s MEPcontent BIM library.

Using Trimble MEP’s MEPcontent (via Stabiplan), ELCO published manufacturer‑specific Revit, AutoCAD and IFC models—leveraging access to over 614,000 files—to make accurate, fabrication-ready product data and accessories available to MEP engineers and contractors. The Trimble MEP collaboration enabled ELCO to launch and share models for new boilers (THISION L PLUS and TRIGON L PLUS), generated positive feedback from new and existing customers, and provided BIM‑usage analytics that improved market insight and planner adoption.
