A Trimble MEP Case Study
Shoffner Kalthoff MES, Inc. was tasked with designing, prefabricating, and constructing HVAC and plumbing systems for the University of Tennessee’s new eight‑story Strong Hall science building on a nine‑month schedule. With no site storage and a complex array of mechanical systems that required exact fits from prefabrication, the company needed a more precise BIM solution than their CAD‑based platform could provide.
Trimble MEP implemented Trimble SysQue with Revit to streamline the BIM and prefabrication workflow, enabling accurate LOD 400 modeling and piping/plumbing spooling. Using Trimble MEP’s solution, Shoffner Kalthoff MES, Inc. delivered the project successfully, reduced field labor hours, increased productivity, and improved the design‑to‑construction workflow.
