Taos Pizza Out Back, a popular Taos, New Mexico restaurant with a sister spot, Taos Cafe Up Front, set out to modernize operations after new ownership in 2018. The team was initially using handwritten tickets and an old cash register and needed a reliable, easy-to-use POS with offline capability and a way to stop missing takeout and delivery orders during busy service.
They implemented TouchBistro POS with iPads, Shogo-to-QuickBooks integration, and TouchBistro Online Ordering so off-premises orders flow directly into the POS. The system delivered robust reporting that led to data-driven changes (for example moving the cafe’s opening from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. to save labor), better visibility into ticket values, fewer missed orders, streamlined accounting, and greater operational resilience.
