Mencap, a UK non-profit charity supporting people with a learning disability, needed a better way to manage assets after learning that its old configuration management/CMDB approach in TOPdesk was being discontinued. Their existing setup was limited, inflexible, and made reporting and integration with other modules difficult, so they began looking for a more adaptable solution.

Mencap migrated to TOPdesk Asset Management and used webinars, a test environment, and a big-bang migration to move everything over. With TOPdesk, they gained more flexible asset fields, Power BI reporting via the OData feed, and automation through action sequences, including automatically creating security incidents from leavers processes. The result was smoother reporting, less manual work, and measurable impact: over the last 12 months, Mencap has linked more than 10,000 assets to incidents and no longer needs CSV exports for reporting.
