Tomorrow.io Predicts the Business Impact of Rain to Power On-Demand Deliveries for Swiggy

Swiggy, India’s leading on-demand delivery platform operating in 500+ cities, faced a major operational challenge: unexpected rainstorms that delay deliveries, raise costs, and harm customer experience. To address this, Swiggy partnered with Tomorrow.io and adopted the Tomorrow.io Weather Intelligence Platform to get hyperlocal, street-level forecasts and weather-impact insights.

Tomorrow.io used proprietary precipitation models and API integrations to deliver historical and predictive, hyperlocal impact data (noting India sees precipitation ~10% of the year and a ~3x increase June–September), enabling Swiggy to optimize go-to-market timing, delivery-partner engagement, and customer ETAs. The Tomorrow.io solution helped Swiggy meaningfully improve customer experience during the pilot by turning forecasts into automated operational actions across routing, incentives, and marketing.
