Dreyfus, a subsidiary of BNY Mellon, needed to determine whether investors were changing financial strategies amid a shifting U.S. political landscape and to reaffirm its position as a thought leader. To rapidly assess customer attitudes and needs, Dreyfus engaged Toluna and used Toluna’s Platform to field targeted research.
Toluna’s Platform surveyed 1,250 individual investors (21+, ≥$50k investable assets) and 200 independent and institutional financial advisors, revealing that fewer than 25% of investors planned to address market challenges within a year. Dreyfus used these insights to publish the thought leadership piece “Helping Meet Investor Challenges,” drive an earned-media campaign, and enable CEO Mark Santero to highlight the benefits of advisors’ goals-based guidance.
