Untamed Sandwiches, a New York fast‑casual chain founded in 2014, serves locally sourced, slow‑braised sandwiches and salads across four locations. As the business expanded, its original legacy POS (Digital Dining) couldn’t keep up with the need for cloud‑based flexibility, integrations, delivery/pickup channels and better analytics.
The team moved to Toast and integrated Checkmate to funnel all third‑party and Toast Online orders into a single POS workflow. That change enabled work with an average of five third‑party partners per location, made online orders 16% of transactions, and drove about $1,000 in additional weekly revenue. Other benefits included doubled tip amounts from on‑screen prompts and a loyalty‑linked email program that grew the subscriber list from ~1,000 to over 10,000 for better segmentation and marketing.
