Nestlé Waters, the bottled water business of Nestlé, needed to shift away from a traditional hierarchical management culture after a period of rapid acquisition and consolidation. To sustain its competitive edge, the company wanted to improve innovation, leadership behavior, and day-to-day management practices across its global operations. TMS Development International Ltd helped design and deliver the Essentials of Management programme, using the Team Management Profile to get managers talking about their style, identify gaps in the organization’s management mix, and encourage a more coaching, democratic approach. The solution helped Nestlé Waters “unfreeze” its mindset and apply the Wheel to real business decisions; around 10% of its 3,000 managers have now completed the programme, and the company says the message has clearly stuck.
