GlaxoSmithKline has used the Team Management Profile to help its employees develop more fulfilling career paths - and increased engagement as a result

GlaxoSmithKline’s Consumer Healthcare division needed a better way to help employees navigate career options in its matrix organisation and improve weak engagement scores around careers and development. Vendor TMS Development International Ltd supported the Oral Health business with the Team Management Profile as part of the “My Winning Career” programme, helping people understand their strengths, preferences and future career possibilities.

TMS Development International Ltd’s solution combined pre-work, four half-day workshops, coaching and manager support to build self-awareness, map career choices and create individual career plans. The programme led to more career moves within GSK and stronger engagement: career direction favourability rose from 61% to 81%, personal and career development from 52% to 74%, support for careers and development from 42% to 61%, and other engagement factors from 69% to 73%.
