A Ticketmaster Case Study
Seattle Theater Group (STG) faced an overwhelming demand for Hamilton at the Paramount and needed to stop bots and counterfeit tickets from reaching patrons. To meet that challenge STG partnered with Ticketmaster, using Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan® platform for all public single-ticket sales and removing the “Print At Home” option in favor of hard stock and mobile entry.
Ticketmaster’s solution also centralized resale inventory management, which together with Verified Fan® and turning off print-at-home nearly eliminated bot activity and dramatically cut fraud—resulting in a 95% reduction in fraudulent tickets and ZERO detected bot activity during the Verified Fan® onsale. STG saw only 20 fraud incidents across the six-week run (versus the usual 10–20 per show), saved time and resources, and delivered a much smoother entry experience for patrons.
