Melodics’ big Aha! moments through hidden customer insights

Melodics, an app that teaches MIDI keyboards, pad controllers and drums, needed to understand what users actually wanted to inform its product roadmap. They were running NPS surveys (three questions sent via Surveygizmo) but lacked the bandwidth and tooling to extract objective, actionable insights—so Melodics chose Thematic’s AI-based analysis and portal to surface hidden themes from free-text feedback quickly.

Thematic processed Melodics’ survey CSVs and gave immediate access to a portal with impact and comparison tools, cutting days of manual analysis to near real-time insight. Thematic revealed that music theory was rarely mentioned and didn’t significantly affect NPS, identified app lag as a major detractor, and enabled Melodics to target and close the loop with unhappy users—helping prioritize fixes and better shape their product roadmap.
