Wayne County boosts ERAP applications to 4,574 with The Work Department

Wayne County faced a federal deadline to distribute nearly $10 million in Emergency Rental Assistance funds to residents. The challenge was to conduct rapid outreach and promote the program to ensure the funds were accessed and distributed in time. The Work Department was brought in to provide grant management and design support for this effort.

The Work Department managed the grantmaking process and coordinated communication across community organizations and the County. They designed multi-lingual promotional materials in English, Arabic, Bangla, and Spanish to reach residents. As a result, applications increased significantly from 106 per week to 355 per week, and the county received 4,574 applications by the deadline, successfully meeting its $9.8 million spend-down target through the efforts of the coordinated local outreach partners.
