FoodLab Detroit launches a 9-month fellowship with The Work Department

FoodLab Detroit, a nonprofit supporting local food entrepreneurs, sought to build a more equitable and sustainable local food industry. They partnered with The Work Department to co-create programming and strategies that would empower their community to make systemic change.

The Work Department developed and launched a multi-year fellowship program and roundtable series for FoodLab Detroit. This initiative brought entrepreneurs together for collective problem-solving, resulting in the publication of two major resources that documented their journeys and insights. Through this partnership, The Work Department helped empower food entrepreneurs to adopt equitable practices and drive meaningful transformation in Detroit's food system.
