Sacred Heart School deploys CrashPlan, spends fewer IT hours managing backups

Sacred Heart School, an educational institution, faced repeated endpoint data loss from lost or stolen laptops and hard drive failures that hurt staff productivity. To prevent data loss and replace manual USB/external-drive backups, the school deployed CrashPlan as a private cloud solution using its own on‑premises hardware.

After calculating the cost of a lost laptop to gain buy‑in and budget, they implemented CrashPlan (Code42), which reliably restored backups and “works invisibly” across locations. The rollout reduced the time IT spent managing endpoint backups and restores, saving the school an estimated 1–10 hours per week.
