National Park Service replaces Acronis with CrashPlan, reduces time spent managing backups

The National Park Service, a federal agency, was struggling with inconsistent endpoint backups and the risk of losing project files and photos from lost or failed laptops. Their previous approach—manual USB backups and Acronis—demanded heavy IT babysitting, custom scripts, drained IT resources, decreased employee productivity and undermined confidence in IT.

They deployed CrashPlan as an on‑premises private cloud replacement for Acronis and manual backups. The easy-to-deploy solution improved backup reliability and self-service restores, reduced IT hours spent on backups, restores and migrations (saving about 1–10 hours/week), boosted end-user productivity, and helped the agency meet FISSA requirements.
