MacArthur Companies deploys Code42, locks down data for legal holds and e-discovery

MacArthur Companies, a medium-sized construction firm, faced frequent endpoint data loss from malware, lost or stolen devices, hardware failures, malicious or accidental deletions, and breaches. The IT team also struggled with employees using personal cloud accounts, limited ability to share large files or collaborate on mobile devices, and no secure way to share files externally—leaving IT with little visibility or control over critical data.

To address this, MacArthur deployed Code42 CrashPlan as a fully hosted public cloud solution to meet security/privacy requirements, IT mandates, and the need for cost-effective, unlimited, and fast access to backups, complementing their antivirus, DLP, intrusion prevention, and device management tools. The deployment protected data during migrations and encryption projects, secured information when employees departed, and supported legal holds and e-discovery, improving data control and resilience.
