Helvetic-Heli, a small aerospace and defense company, faced endpoint data‑loss risks from hardware failures, accidental deletions and exploits, while employees commonly used file servers for access. The company also needed to keep corporate data on‑premises to meet data sovereignty, regulatory compliance and legal‑hold requirements.

To address this, Helvetic-Heli replaced EMC Mozy and manual USB backups with Code42 CrashPlan deployed as an on‑premises private cloud, delivering flexible, easy‑to‑use endpoint protection that met privacy and compliance needs. The solution complemented existing security controls (antivirus, DLP, intrusion prevention, application sandboxing) and was used to protect data ahead of a migration/encryption project.
