Wendy’s leverages a flexible AR technology approach for food safety and supplier oversight

Wendy’s, the international fast-food chain, needed a flexible augmented reality approach to maintain food safety and supplier oversight as COVID-19 restricted travel and in-person audits. The QA team launched a phased pilot to evaluate industry-specific AR tools for remote product evaluations, supplier walkthroughs, and training before making a larger investment.

Wendy’s deployed TeamViewer Frontline (NSF EyeSucceed) smart glasses for livestreaming, remote audits, training, and corrective intelligence, enabling experts to observe product cuttings and approvals and conduct live supplier investigations. The pilot reduced travel costs, increased inspection efficiency and frequency, improved supplier connectivity and compliance awareness, received strong user feedback, and is now expanding internationally and into restaurant operations.
