Case Study: AbilityNet (UK accessibility charity) sustains vital remote tech support during COVID-19 with TeamViewer

A TeamViewer Case Study

Preview of the AbilityNet Case Study

UK charity assists individuals with tech problems, creating an accessible environment for everyone

AbilityNet is a UK charity that helps disabled adults and children use computers and the internet to improve life at work, home and school. With a nationwide network of more than 350 Tech volunteers who normally provide phone, home and in-person support, AbilityNet faced the challenge of continuing timely, personalised help when Covid-19 restrictions suspended volunteer visits.

By adopting TeamViewer remote-access software, volunteers could securely access clients’ PCs to walk them through fixes, install drivers and demonstrate steps on-screen as if they were there in person. This kept AbilityNet’s community approach intact, expanded its geographic reach, and helped clients feel less isolated, more confident and able to do more with their technology.
