Case Study: Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS achieves faster, more efficient testing and reduced emissions with TeamViewer

A TeamViewer Case Study

Preview of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Case Study

The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team drives speed and efficiency through its partnership with TeamViewer

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a leading works team in F1, partnered with TeamViewer in 2021 to drive digital transformation and overcome COVID-era restrictions, limited trackside staffing and the need to reduce travel-related CO2 emissions. With no margin for error in testing or race operations, the team required innovative remote connectivity to maintain peak performance and operational continuity.

Using TeamViewer’s remote connectivity and monitoring platform, Mercedes-AMG Petronas provided remote IT support, linked trackside crews with UK-based engineers, and ran tests and labs more efficiently (including out-of-hours and parallel testing). The result was faster, more reliable test cycles, improved trackside performance within regulatory staffing limits, and reduced travel — delivering both competitive gains and lower emissions.
