SaarGummi Neo, the innovation lab of the SaarGummi Group (a global automotive sealing-systems supplier), faced intense pressure to accelerate development cycles, shorten production times, adopt new materials and processes, and deliver tailored solutions as product and plant complexity grew. To stay competitive and drive its Industry 4.0 agenda, the lab needed a way to roll out innovations across 17 global sites faster and more efficiently without tying up experts in travel.

Building on an in-house remote-support tool, SaarGummi Neo deployed TeamViewer Assist AR in 2020 to enable live video sessions with augmented-reality annotations on technicians’ smartphones or tablets. The solution sped implementation and troubleshooting, allowed immediate prototype inspection, cut specialist travel and costs, and became an integral part of the company’s digitalization and innovation strategy — proving especially valuable during pandemic travel restrictions.
