Case Study: Benzinger achieves Industry 4.0-ready remote maintenance and higher machine availability with TeamViewer

A TeamViewer Case Study

Benzinger relies on IBH Link IoT with TeamViewer software to remotely maintain legacy machines

Carl Benzinger GmbH, a German maker of high-precision lathes and milling machines used across medical, automotive and precision industries, faced a service challenge: many legacy machines (some from the 1990s) were not Internet-ready and required technicians to connect a laptop on site to run remote support. With rising Industry 4.0 expectations and customers demanding faster, global support, Benzinger needed a way to increase machine availability and speed up troubleshooting without replacing equipment.

Benzinger retrofitted machines with the IBH Link IoT gateway preloaded with TeamViewer, bringing roughly 70% of legacy plants online for secure, on‑demand remote maintenance (hardware key switch plus TeamViewer encryption and logging). The result: fewer on-site visits, faster fault diagnosis and recovery, protected production data, higher machine uptime and improved customer satisfaction — making remote service a key competitive advantage.
