A TeamViewer powered IoT solution paves way for Danelec to digitalize the maritime industry

Interorient Shipmanagement partnered with Danelec Marine and TeamViewer to trial a low-cost, standardized vessel remote-connection solution. Interorient’s challenge was to reduce the complexity and cost of reliable remote access across its fleet as part of a broader digitalization effort to cut manual paperwork and improve operational efficiency.

The solution combined Danelec’s plug-and-play Vessel Remote Server (VRS) with a TeamViewer IoT agent embedded in the VRS OS, delivering secure, outbound-only remote access to Voyage Data Recorders and other ship systems. Trials demonstrated successful remote pre-APT and IPT testing, alarm monitoring, troubleshooting and on-demand data downloads, reducing engineer visits, cutting time and cost, and enabling centralized, encrypted fleet management.
