Western Connecticut State University (WCSU), a public university near New York City, faced declining traditional in‑state enrollment and outdated, manual recruitment processes that missed many student touchpoints. With no inquiry management, event registration, or consistent follow‑up, the admissions team needed a way to distinguish WCSU in a crowded market, expand outreach (especially into New York), and integrate recruitment data with their Banner SIS.
WCSU adopted TargetX through a phased CRM rollout—starting with inquiry tracking, then events management and Banner integration, followed by Common App support and a paperless Decision Module—automating communications and workflows.
